Wildlife reserves in Brisbane area are being threatened to be turned into off-road bike trails and bike parks/bowls, specifically the White’s Hill Reserve. Plans to make a cycle “pump” park and bowl have been made with little consultation or notification to the surrounding communities.

White’s Hill Reserve is home to a large amount of koalas, wallabies, and endless native bird life. With the threat of cyclists being allowed in as an adventure park puts all these animals at risk. Not to mention the rich fauna it hosts is likely to be trampled. Groups of cyclists in highly animal populated areas cause distress and confusion for our native animals that the majority of the world has shown interest in protecting, except for our council.
