The issue

Voltron: Legendary Defender fans around the world—many of whom grew up watching the series or discovered it as a source of comfort, identity, and inspiration—are devastated by its sudden removal from Netflix. While the show was labeled a “Netflix Original,” it is now no longer available on the platform, leaving long-time fans (especially younger viewers and those without the means to buy individual seasons) with no accessible way to rewatch or discover the series. For many of us, Voltron wasn’t just a show—it was a lifeline, a part of our growing up, and a piece of media that helped us feel seen.

If no action is taken, Voltron: Legendary Defender risks being forgotten—not because it wasn’t loved, but because it’s been made impossible to watch. We lose more than a story—we lose queer representation, incredible character arcs, and a community that formed around this universe. New fans won’t be able to find it. Old fans can’t revisit it. And a huge part of modern animation history is at risk of being erased from easy public access.

Now is the time to act because the licensing deal has just expired, and public interest is still alive. If enough fans raise their voices now, we can show Netflix, DreamWorks, or any potential platform that Voltron is still wanted. That it deserves to be preserved and accessible. Whether it’s returning to Netflix, being moved to another streaming service, or having an affordable full-season digital release, we just want a way to return to this universe—and for others to discover it too.
