The Powell River public library has decided that because of a few problematic teens, that we are no longer allowed comfortable seating in the teen section. The charging station has been removed, and the comfy armchairs and rolling chairs have been replaced with prison-like wooden benches with no cushions.

This is a problem because:

1- Many teens and even adults use the teen space as a more private, closed off area for zoom meetings, phone calls, studying etc.

2- These last few summers, PRPL has advertised their teen section as a safe, airconditioned hang out space for teens, as well as a place for us to charge our phones. 

3- Nowadays, phone charging is essential. many businesses will refuse customers to use their phones to contact parents, taxi companies, etc. Bus schedules are only available once you get on the bus, meaning you require a working and charged smartphone or laptop to catch a bus.
