Bring the 80s back

Bring the 80s back

The Issue

As someone who cherishes the vibrant spirit of the 1980s, I can't help but feel a longing for that era. Although I wasn't born in the 80s, every picture and story from that time resonates with me. It was a period of colorful expression, unique fashion, and iconic music. The optimism and creativity of the 80s are something that we miss dearly in today's increasingly digital and isolating environment.

We have seen the rejuvenation of the 2000s, so why not the 80s? It was a much safer time—a funner time. The 80s boasted better clothes, better hair, more daring makeup, and overall, a much cooler style than we see today. The trends and bright colors were not just appealing but also embodied a free-spirited culture. Our current style seems monochrome in comparison. Everything now feels heavier—our makeup, styles, and even the mood of society. With schools becoming more toxic environments, predominantly due to the addictive nature of cell phones, we long for the simpler times, like the 80s, where human connection thrived.

Bringing back the 80s is not just about nostalgia; it's about embracing a mindset that thrived on positivity, fun, and real interactions. The beauty standards have shifted towards less authenticity with flatter hair and darker clothes, more conformist fashion. It’s time to celebrate individuality again, and the 80s gives us that template. Let’s revisit and revive the joyous elements of this decade with organized community events, themed parties, and educational programs in schools that highlight the culture and music of the 1980s.

bring 80s music back. It was so fun and loving you could hear the excitement in their voices. People would bring boom boxes to school and talk with literally everyone they didn’t have opps Nobody had ops now everyone’s just filled with hate and it’s because of the phones. School could be fun we could be running or around with everyone in our own personal state and nobody would judge nobody about deny because everyone was just there in the moment living life now everyone’s living life in their bedroom on TikTok. Maybe our parents were right it was all that damn phone.

And we need to be out more people used to be out past dark when the street lights came on anything to keep them out of the house. It was safe. It was just normal for them. They were out past dark because they didn’t have phones the only way of Communication was the Home phone and then you’ll meet up and you wouldn’t see your parents. You’d only be with your friends for hours upon hours and then Come home and dinner would be ready now all we have to do is walk to the kitchen because we’re stuck in our rooms.

Let’s bring back an era where connections mattered more than the digital likes and shares. Embrace the essence of the 80s and integrate it into our daily lives for a balance that today's world could greatly benefit from. We need to remind ourselves of a time when exuberance ruled. By signing this petition, you can help bring the spirit and joy of the 80s into our modern era. Let’s make it happen!
