Petition updateBring London Buses back to Waltham Abbey – fix our inadequate public transport.🚨 Waltham Abbey: TfL BUS PETITION BACK OPEN! 🚍
Bring Back Red BusesWaltham Abbey, United Kingdom
Apr 26, 2025

Dear all,

Our petition is officially back open for new signatories — and the response so far has been incredible.

We closed this petition in January 2024 to prepare for its presentation at the London Assembly that February. Since reopening just a few days ago, over 100 of you have already signed, and that number continues to rise.

Why have we reopened the petition?

Because despite all the incredible progress we made — with backing from our local MPs, support from the Mayor of Waltham Abbey, and even a unanimous London Assembly vote calling on TfL to restore bus services to Waltham Abbey — no action has been taken.

Essex County Council, who have the power (and the government funding) to make this happen, have remained silent.

Our town is still without a direct bus link to Chingford, with abandoned bus stops, inadequate and unreliable services to other areas, high fares, and minimal evening and weekend services. A town with so much potential has been left neglected—local people struggle to make simple journeys, and our town centre is dying.

What's next?

We are working on a major push to get this issue back at the top of the agenda, and your continued support is crucial.

Please keep signing, sharing, and spreading the word. Every single signature strengthens our case.

If you believe Waltham Abbey deserves the affordable, reliable and properly integrated transport system it once had — please help us by sharing this petition as widely as you can.

Together, we are making a difference. Let’s keep going.

➡️ Don't let them ignore Waltham Abbey.
