Dec 15, 2023

MAJOR PETITION UPDATE - Sir Iain Duncan Smith MP, Member of Parliament for Chingford and Woodford Green and former Tory leader, supports our demand to extend London Buses routes 215 and 379 to at least Waltham Abbey Town Centre. Sir Iain is calling on the Mayor of London and Transport for London to facilitate the extention of both routes from Chingford to Waltham Abbey.

Sir Iain Duncan Smith MP, local Chingford councillor Mitchell Goldie, and London Assembly member Emma Best, have all demonstrated support for the reinstatement of London bus services between Waltham Abbey and Chingford by extending routes 215 and 379.

Sir Iain has now started a petition targeted at his constituency, directly quoting this petition (and using our main picture of a Routemaster outside the Welsh Harp pub!): "We call on Transport for London to restore a frequent, daily London Buses link between Waltham Abbey and neighbouring Chingford by extending route 215 (which currently terminates at the Lea Valley Camp Site on Sewardstone Road – just within the Waltham Abbey boundary) and route 379 (which also terminates on Sewardstone Road) to at least Waltham Abbey Town Centre."

We would like to thank Sir Iain for his support! The petition can be accessed here: https://action.conservatives.com/505bus/
