We would like to thank all those who have signed and supported our petition to reinstate TfL buses in Waltham Abbey, including the Mayor of Waltham Abbey, Cllr Shane Yerrell, who has kindly agreed for this petition to be submitted in his name. The support for this petition has been truly overwhelming.
Emma Best AM will be presenting this petition, alongside Sir Iain Duncan Smith MP's petition, to the Mayor of London and TfL at City Hall at the Plenary Meeting of the London Assembly on Thursday 8th February.
She will also be raising a motion on the London Assembly to support the content of this petition.
It's about time the public transport situation in Waltham Abbey was properly addressed. Residents and businesses are more desperate than ever for Waltham Abbey to be reconnected to the wider TfL network - the days of abandoned bus stops along Sewardstone Road, alongside poor services to Loughton and other areas, must come to an end.
The full support received from the teams at Ashbrook Court and 1 Sewardstone Close care homes on Sewardstone Road, who bear witness to the daily challenges faced by families and staff as a result of the inadequate public transport in Waltham Abbey, underlines the pressing urgency of reinstating TfL services.
As we approach the presentation date, we are deeply grateful for the support received from the local community, the Mayor of Waltham Abbey, Emma Best AM, Sir Iain Duncan Smith MP, and local councillors in the area. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the future of public transport in Waltham Abbey.
