Hi everyone,
I wanted to thank you all for the incredible support you have shown to this petition over the past six months.
We now have well over 6,200 signatures and it's going up by the day, even now.
I just discovered today that, not only have you been signing, but over 200 of you have put your money where your mouth is by donating to this petition. Between you all, you've spent well over £1,000 on getting this petition to a wider audience.
This makes me feel quite emotional and thank you! You are all amazing! This shows me the depth of feeling that exists for Steve, and the levels of dismay and frustration that LBC has made many of us feel since February when they took us for mugs.
Today, we've had a big boost in signatures, and we hope that people will keep signing over the next fortnight or so that we are keeping this petition open for.
On Monday 4th September, a couple of us are heading to Global's headquarters at 30 Leicester Square, London WC2, where we will present someone from Global with a hard copy of our petition.
Once printed off, it will be an impressive, weighty document - like a book - that will contain all of your names and your thousands of heartfelt comments - and this has to have some kind of impact on LBC and its suited bigwigs sitting in their 30 Leicester Square ivory tower.
We are currently discussing and planning a variety of ways in which we can ensure that LBC, and in particular the station's top brass, will be fully aware of the delivery of this petition on 4th September, and will be forced to least acknowledge, if not consider it.
After all, it's hard to argue with six thousand, two hundred people and counting!
We would also like to know if Steve is himself aware of our efforts: if anyone can help with that, you could let us know in the Steve Allen (former) LBC Legend Facebook group.
Once again, thank you all! You've done an amazing job! The next update will be in early September after our visit to Global headquarters.
