This is more than a petition. This is a heartfelt call from members of our community who have deeply felt the absence of Sh. Hassan Kassi from the Islamic Center of Wheaton.

For many people, Sh. Hassan was more than just a familiar face at ICW. He was someone who brought people together, built meaningful relationships, offered guidance, and helped strengthen the sense of brotherhood, belonging, and community that makes a masjid feel like home.

Since his departure, his absence has been felt.

The atmosphere is different. The connection is different. A presence that meant so much to so many members of the community is simply no longer there.

A strong community is built through relationships. It is built through trust, consistency, sincerity, and people who genuinely care about those around them. Sh. Hassan had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life and make them feel welcomed, valued, and part of something bigger than themselves.

That kind of impact is difficult to replace.

We are respectfully but urgently calling upon the ICW Board and leadership to initiate the process of bringing Sh. Hassan Kassi back to the Islamic Center of Wheaton immediately.

This request comes from a place of love for ICW and a genuine desire to see our community continue to grow stronger and more united.

We ask the Board to hear the voices of the community, recognize the impact Sh. Hassan has had, and seriously consider what his return could mean for ICW moving forward.

ICW is home. And for many of us, Sh. Hassan is a part of that home.
