The Issue

Each day that passes deepens the ache in my heart. I can't stop thinking about the innocent children, some just a few years or months old, along with their dedicated teacher who have been kidnapped in Nigeria. As a parent, this situation hits me to my core; no child should ever experience such terror, nor should any teacher suffer for their commitment to education.

Kidnapping remains a grave issue in Nigeria, threatening the safety and future of our next generation. In 2021 alone, over 1,400 students were reported abducted from their schools, a horrifying statistic that underscores the urgency of this matter. By allowing these atrocities to continue, we put at risk not only our children's immediate safety but also their chance at an education and a hopeful future.

We urgently call upon the Nigerian government to take swift and decisive action. We demand increased security measures around schools to safeguard our children and educators. Additionally, we need a dedicated task force to locate and safely recover these kidnapped individuals. Efforts must be intensified to bring back those who are currently missing and ensure that such a tragedy never repeats.

To bring real change, international organizations and governments with strategic and intelligence capabilities should lend their support and expertise to Nigeria in combating this epidemic of kidnappings.

Please, join me in urging the Nigerian government to prioritize the safety of our children and educators by signing this petition. Together, we can amplify our voices and ensure that no stone is left unturned until every kidnapped child and their teacher are safely home. Sign now to make a difference. The Nigerian government must take stronger action against terrorism, prioritize the safety of its citizens, and seek international assistance if necessary to address the security challenges facing the nation.
