During our childhoods, interesting weather events such as summer thunderstorms, autumn windstorms and winter snow were almost a guarantee. But in recent years we have been seeing less of these and a lot more in the way of benign weather. Whilst I am sure many of us are gratefull that we have nothing too drastic such as hurricanes, it would still be nice to spice up our current climate a little. As weather enthusiasts, a benign climate can get boring and all we want is to have some of the interesting weather we had when we were younger.
