Bring Mr. Casper Back To Segerstrom High School

The Issue

We, the students, families, and community members of Segerstrom High School, are deeply saddened by the recent decision to remove Principal David Casper from his position. While we understand that a mistake was made and rules were broken, we believe that the overall positive impact Mr. Casper has had on our school far outweighs this one incident.

Mr. Casper was more than just a principal—he was a listener, a motivator, and a true leader who brought joy and structure to our campus. His presence created a school environment that was not only academically strong but emotionally supportive. He brought a unique balance of silliness and seriousness—someone who could make you laugh in the hallway but also hold students to high standards. He made students feel seen, heard, and cared for.

We acknowledge the CIF violations, and we don’t excuse them. But we also recognize that Mr. Casper has always acted in the best interest of students, and his removal feels more like a punishment to our entire school community. Our principal made Segerstrom feel like a second home for many of us.

We respectfully ask the Santa Ana Unified School District to reconsider their decision and allow Mr. Casper to return to Segerstrom High School. Let’s allow room for accountability and redemption. Bring back the leader who made our school feel like family.
