Bring Moonee Valley to life with better mobility and transport options

Bring Moonee Valley to life with better mobility and transport options
The issue
Moonee Valley deserves a transportation system that meets the needs of all of its residents.
We urge our leaders to bring Moonee Valley to life with improved mobility, better, safer streets for Active Transport, and more frequent Public Transport.
We can’t keep adding thousands of cars to our roads without gridlock.

More information:
Currently, our mobility options do not adequately support a growing population, leading to congestion, safety concerns, and environmental challenges. It's time to bring Moonee Valley to life with improved mobility, safer streets for active transport, and more frequent public transport.
**Safer Streets for Active Transport** Walking and cycling can become viable everyday means of purposeful transportation if the streets are made safe and welcoming. 75% of Moonee Valley residents are interested in cycling but concerned for their safety while doing it. Installing more bike lanes, traffic calming measures, way-finding signage, accessible tram stops and pedestrian crossings, will protect everyone when they walk, cycle, or roll, leading to a healthier and more active community.
**Solutions for All: Public Transport** Expanding and enhancing public transportation options, such as buses and trams, will significantly relieve traffic congestion, improve East-West and North-South links, reduce pollution and encourage residents to walk more. We need to involve the hundreds of locals who are unable to use buses because they are not offered a “turn up and go” service or, after 9pm, any service. Planning and decision-making with all residents ensures these projects meet actual needs and improve the quality of life for everyone.
We urge local Mayor Rose Iser and MP Danny Pearson, Council officers, our Council CEO Helen Sui, Minister for Transport Infrastructure, Gabrielle Williams, transport authorities and local residents to prioritize these initiatives.
Our priorities: Focussing on air quality, sustainability, safety, and accessibility will transform our community, reduce our carbon footprint and make Moonee Valley a better place to live.
