Bring Kappa Sigma back to the University of North Georgia

Bring Kappa Sigma back to the University of North Georgia
The Issue
Many of us have witnessed the profound impact the Kappa Sigma chapter has had on the University of North Georgia’s campus. Beyond just being a fraternity, it has been a home, a family, and a beacon of support for countless students. For many members, being part of Kappa Sigma has not only defined their university experience but has also shaped them into better leaders and community members.
It has come to our attention that a single mistake has led to the unfortunate removal of this esteemed chapter. While mistakes should undoubtedly be addressed, punishing every member collectively for the actions of a few is not fair or just. We believe that everyone deserves a second chance, especially when the mistake does not reflect the core values or the cohesive efforts of the whole.
The Kappa Sigma fraternity has been heavily involved around campus — from philanthropic events, volunteer work, to fostering an environment of inclusion and growth. Their absence has left a void that we cannot ignore. It's about more than bringing back a fraternity; it's about restoring a sense of belonging and family for these young men who have had that taken away.
Many other chapters have been granted the opportunity to rectify their mistakes and demonstrate growth and change. We implore the administration of the University of North Georgia to extend the same opportunity to Kappa Sigma, allowing them the chance to show their growth and commitment to betterment.
Reinstating Kappa Sigma would not only bring back a valuable part of campus life but also reinforce the idea that the university fosters growth, understanding, and redemption. We urge the University of North Georgia to reconsider their decision and allow Kappa Sigma to return and continue to positively impact the lives they touch.
Please join us in supporting this cause by signing this petition. Let's bring Kappa Sigma back to its home and restore the community that so many have come to cherish.
