Bring justice to the coyotes killed near Lanigan

Bring justice to the coyotes killed near Lanigan
The Issue
Four innocent coyotes were heartlessly chased down, struck by snowmobiles, and left to suffer in the cold east of Lanigan, as reported by conservation officers. This inhumane and illegal act reflects a disturbing trend of wildlife cruelty that must be addressed, echoing the tragic fate of Thea Wolf in the USA, who endured a similar barbaric ordeal after being run over in a snowmobile by Cody Roberts, her mouth taped shut, and paraded around a bar before being shot.

On January 11, 2026, Humboldt conservation officers discovered the scene approximately 11 kilometers east of Lanigan. Out of the four coyotes found, two were clinging to life yet agonizing from their severe injuries. The officers shot them instead of opting for wildlife rehabilitation. This incident has ignited outrage in the community and highlights the urgent need for stronger wildlife protection laws and rehabilitation options.
Currently, a cash reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this heinous act. But financial incentives alone are not enough. We need action from the Saskatchewan government to enact stricter penalties for wildlife cruelty and ensure resources are allocated for wildlife rehabilitation centers that can care for injured animals and provide them a fighting chance. We would contact these places. https://www.humboldtspca.com/contact-us

We call upon the government to strengthen legislation, increase surveillance in known wildlife areas, and permit and fund rehabilitation programs crucial for wildlife conservation. Together, we can ensure that justice is served and the precious wildlife in Saskatchewan is protected from harm.
Please show your support for these defenseless creatures and help bring justice to the coyotes killed near Lanigan. Sign this petition and stand against wildlife cruelty in Saskatchewan.
