The Issue

Millions of readers use public libraries to access books, and many of us have invested in Kindle.

Hoopla ebooks cannot be sent to Kindle e-ink devices, even though many library ebooks borrowed through Libby can.

Why should library patrons have to switch to a phone, tablet, or computer just to read a book their library already offers?

We're calling on Amazon, Hoopla, and relevant library ebook partners to:

Publicly explain the licensing or technical barriers preventing Hoopla-to-Kindle compatibility.
Explore agreements that would allow Hoopla ebooks to be borrowed and read on Kindle e-readers.
Give library patrons greater freedom to choose how they read.
This is about accessibility, affordability, and supporting public libraries.

Library books should be easier to read, not harder.

Sign and share if you want Hoopla ebooks on your Kindle!
