bring extensions back

The Issue

JMS (Journey Middle School) has blocked all extensions, even harmless ones, so we want to bring them back—at least the ones that are safe and helpful for students. Some extensions help us learn better, stay organized, and finish our work more easily. Plus, some keep us safe and make things more convenient. For example, they can help with spelling, translations, or taking notes. When all extensions are blocked, it can make schoolwork harder than it needs to be. We understand that the school wants to keep us safe online, and we agree that harmful extensions should stay blocked. But we are asking the school to allow harmless, educational extensions that support learning in class. Please consider bringing back safe, school-approved extensions at Journey Middle School so we can do our best in our classes. Here are some examples based on comments from students. Most of us had ad blockers, and now our Chromebooks are much slower because they’re gone, or the Gmail notifiers we all had, because what if a teacher emails us something over the weekend? We would need to know. Sure, some of the games we could go without, but these are my friend’s exact words: “Take away Chrome apps, but give us our extensions back.” Plus, we need access to other things besides extensions. For example, on the Chrome Web Store (where we get extensions from), we can install themes and backgrounds, but now, because of what y'all decided, we no longer have access to them. All of the stuff I just mentioned, the majority has been told to me by other people i had some of these extensions
