Following the decision of the European Broadcasting Union, in May 2023 Belfast has the opportunity to host to Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest.

This is a perhaps once in a lifetime opportunity to bring one of the most spectacular shows on Earth to our city.

We cannot forget that this opportunity has arisen because of the ongoing invasion of Ukraine. Belfast sprung into action to support the people of Ukraine in their darkest hour. We have raised millions of pounds in aid and humanitarian supplies for the people of Ukraine and we have thrown thousands of our doors open to refugees fleeing the conflict.

25 years on from the Good Friday Agreement and the advent of peace here, Belfast is uniquely placed amongst potential host cities to understand and empathise with the people of Ukraine.
