Bring Dissidia to Console and PC, not mobile.

Bring Dissidia to Console and PC, not mobile.
The Issue
To the incredible team at Square Enix,
We, the dedicated fans of the Dissidia Final Fantasy series, are writing to you today about the new Dissidia game announced for mobile. We love this series, and seeing a new entry is truly exciting! However, we have a huge concern we need to share with you, and it all boils down to one thing: Please bring the new Dissidia game to console and PC!
Look, we want to be honest with you. Your recent track record with mobile games makes us very, very worried. Investing time, money, and emotional energy into a new mobile Dissidia feels like a gamble we've lost too many times.
It’s heartbreaking when a game we love gets cancelled and all that content is essentially lost.
We are talking about major titles that have already shut down, or going to:
• Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia: This was a fan favorite! Proving even the most beloved mobile Dissidia isn't safe.
• Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier: Shut down after barely a year on the market.
• Nier Reincarnation: An artistically unique game that also shutdown.
• Echoes of Mana: Shut down not long after launch.
• Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link: Shut down before release.
• Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Dragon Quest of the Stars: These ran for a long time, but their Japanese services are still closing, showing even the old guard isn't permanent.
This list isn't just a few minor games; it's a pattern that shows mobile live service is a high-risk platform, even for your biggest franchises. With Dissidia being a beloved, lore-rich series, we simply can't bear to see its potential wasted and its content locked behind servers that could disappear.
Converting this game to a dedicated console and PC title isn't just about preserving it; it's a smart business decision that respects your long-time fanbase and the quality of your game:
1. Guaranteed Preservation: A console/PC release, ideally with an offline single-player mode, ensures the game's story, art, and gameplay will be accessible forever, long after any online servers go down. This preserves the Final Fantasy legacy.
2. A Starved Market: Fans have been clamoring for a proper Dissidia console game, something closer to the PSP titles like Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy. There's a real hunger for a non-mobile entry.
3. Higher Quality Control: Console platforms allow for a more streamlined, premium experience, free from the constant menu clutter and overwhelming gacha mechanics that plague many mobile titles. Fans have noted that your mobile games often feel more like a "chore to play" due to excessive menus.
4. Better Monetization: Instead of relying on a risky live-service/gacha model that often leads to burnout and eventual shutdown, a console release could thrive on a solid upfront price, paid expansions, and cosmetic DLC, providing a more stable revenue stream and happier customers.
Dissidia deserves a permanent place on consoles, where its legacy can be enjoyed for years, not months. We urge you to consider the anxiety your fans feel about mobile and instead give this new Dissidia the premium, stable, and long-lasting home it deserves on console and PC.
Thank you for listening to the community. We hope you will take this plea to heart.
