The issue

For years, Defqon.1 Australia united thousands of hardstyle fans in one incredible weekend of energy, music, and community. The festival was originally banned due to tragic deaths linked to drug use, but in 2025, Australia legalised pill testing — a huge step forward for festival safety. Since its last event in 2018, fans have been waiting for its return — and it’s time to make our voices heard.

We’re asking Q-dance and Australian event promoters to work together to bring Defqon.1 back to Australia. The hardstyle scene here is stronger than ever — with packed shows, massive fan support, and a new generation of ravers ready to experience what Defqon means: music, unity, and respect.

We believe a well-organized, safe, and professional event can meet every requirement while delivering the world-class Defqon experience we all love. With pill testing now legal, the festival can prioritise safety while keeping the energy, community, and music alive.

Let’s show Q-dance and Australian promoters that the passion for Defqon never died — it only grew louder.
