The Issue

My beloved dog Beast was seized on the 14th after being suspected of being an XL Bully. Beast is actually a Staffy cross and has always had a very soft, gentle and loving temperament. He has never harmed anyone, shown aggression, or caused any problems. Anyone who has met Beast knows he is a calm, affectionate and friendly dog who loves people and enjoys being around his family.

Beast was born on the 1st of February 2025, which means he is still a very young dog with his whole life ahead of him. From the moment he came into our lives he has been a loyal companion and a huge part of our family. He is not just a pet – he is family. Beast has always been well cared for, loved deeply, and raised in a safe and responsible home.

Beast has rarely ever been away from me and we have always been very close. When he was taken away, I could hear him whining as he was put into the back of the van. It was heartbreaking to hear him so distressed and confused. Beast suffers with anxiety and being separated from the person he is used to being with every day will be incredibly unsettling for him.

Since Beast was taken from us, our home has felt empty and it has been incredibly upsetting not knowing how he is or when we might see him again. What has made this even more distressing is that we have not been given any information about where he is being kept, how he is doing, or whether we will be able to see him. Not knowing about his wellbeing has caused us a great deal of worry.

Those who know Beast understand how gentle and affectionate he is. He enjoys spending time with his family, relaxing at home and being part of everyday life. He has always been a friendly and well-behaved dog and has never given anyone reason to fear him.

We understand the importance of public safety and responsible dog ownership, and we fully respect the role of the authorities. However, we truly believe that Beast deserves fairness and compassion. He deserves the opportunity to return to the loving home where he is properly cared for and surrounded by the people who love him.

I am a responsible owner and I am fully willing to comply with any reasonable conditions required to ensure Beast is kept safely and responsibly.

I respectfully ask Devon & Cornwall Police and the Dangerous Dogs Unit to review Beast’s case carefully and allow him the opportunity to return home to his family.

Please support this petition and help bring Beast home where he belongs. Beast is loved, he is missed, and he deserves the chance to come home.
