Gopher is a character from the Winnie the Pooh franchise who made his first appearance in Disney's "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree."  Like his name says, he is a gopher who likes to tunnel everywhere through the ground. He is shown to be a little cranky and grouchy some of the time but at the same time, is a very funny, cute, lovable and nice guy! From time to time, he keeps accidentally falling back into his underground hole which I always found very funny! He's a character created exclusively by Disney and is not featured in the original Winnie the Pooh books but he's still one of my favorite characters from the Disney franchise! He has been featured in a couple Winnie the Pooh projects. His most prominent role was in the TV series "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" which is currently the best Pooh series ever! What I loved about it was that Gopher appeared in many episodes! He was actually one of the main characters!

Unfortunately, Gopher has been absent from the franchise for a really long time. In fact, he's been quite forgotten and is not supposedly not very appreciated by some out there. As far as I know, his most recent appearance was in the movie, "Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year" which was released in 2002 which was nearly 25 years ago! Not only that but he was also absent in the 2011 movie "Winnie the Pooh" the last and most recent traditional animated feature film by Walt Disney Animation Studios as well as the most recent animated Winnie the Pooh movie in general. And what's even more strange is that he was even absent in the movie "Christopher Robin" the very first live action Winnie the Pooh movie in the franchise and also the first movie in general since "Winnie the Pooh" (2011). This is so unfair!! Like I said before, he is one of my favorite Pooh characters!!

However, there may be still hope for Gopher. I heard there's a new Winnie the Pooh movie in the works but I don't know if it will be a Christopher Robin 2 or a completely separate movie. In fact, I don't even know if it's going to be live action but I have a huge feeling that it will be. This could be Disney's chance to bring back the forgotten character! Also, if they don't end up bringing him back in this movie, then maybe they should give him his own movie. I believe it has so much potential like revealing more about his past, any possible family members, and much more! Imagine all the silly and exciting adventures Gopher can have in his underground home as well as the  Hundred Acre Wood with Pooh and all his other friends plus any new possible characters!

I truly believe it's about time that Disney brought back Gopher! Let's urge them to bring back this forgotten and underappreciated character in the Winnie the Pooh franchise! Either in the announced upcoming project, his own movie, or in any projects!! We need Gopher back!!
