Das Problem

As a recent purchaser of the Microsoft Surface Pro 11 (ARM64), the disappointment I experienced when I realized I could not download ANY Android Apps was profound. That joy turned sour as I discovered on March 5, 2025, the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) and the Amazon App Store are no longer available in the Microsoft Store nor supported, especially on ARM64 devices.

The WSA served as the official Microsoft app for downloading and using apk files and Android Apps on Windows 11. Unfortunately, when viewed through the lens of raw finances, WSA was deemed non-advantageous. A Microsoft employee even declared on Twitter that WSA does not help Windows financially.

However, many users now find themselves without access to a crucial digital tool. While alternatives like Android emulators exist, they typically do not support ARM64 devices, leaving users with limited options. With this abrupt decision, Microsoft is effectively stripping ARM64 device users of a key feature, disappointing many loyal customers. Furthermore, there is no longer a native way to download and run Android apps, as was previously possible through Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA).

Let's urge Microsoft to reconsider this decision. They'd not only maintain their faithful client base but also extend their market reach to Android app users, leading to a potential increase in their overall revenue.

I hope this plea reaches the decision-makers. The joy of owning a Microsoft Surface Pro 11 shouldn’t be marred by the restrictions in accessing Android Apps. We demand the reinstatement of WSA. Please do not stop WSA complitely, support it. Stand with me and sign this petition. Together, we can bring the change we wish to see. I saw a lot of comments and feedbacks of disappointed users, so I believe that I create this petition not in vain
