The Issue

Let's tell the superintendent and school board that we want them to save Wendy Kruger's job as PHS athletic director!

Wendy has been the Athletic Director at Pullman High School for the last four years and has done a phenomenal job, even winning a statewide award for her achievements. She works tirelessly for the students, and her creative problem solving and fundraising ensures students have opportunities to participate in all of the activities and sports they have interests in.

The superintendent, Bob Maxwell, has decided to get rid of that position and make a hybrid assistant principal/athletic director position in its place, stating it is to save money during a budget shortfall, although there are questions about the reality of that reasoning. The truth is, Wendy's creative fundraising makes her a financial ASSET for the school district, not a financial liability.

Despite 150 people showing up to the school board meeting a month ago, asking the board to support a motion to reconsider eliminating that position so Wendy Kruger could remain as AD, a tied vote of 2-2 at the board meeting meant that the motion failed and they would not reconsider.

If we act quickly to show how much we care about Wendy keeping the athletic director job, we can show the superintendent and school board just how many of us there truly are, and maybe they will finally listen and correct their mistake.

Please consider leaving a brief comment explaining your stance.
