As a Fortnite player who plays the game every day, the Winterfest cabin has always been more than just a feature in the game that gets added every Christmas. To me, it symbolises the spirit of Christmas, bringing a cozy ambiance/vibe and a sense of joy during the holiday season and also is a great way for players to connect with each other online. It was a special place where players could choose a present every single day for two weeks and then unwrap their free reward. You could also interact with various objects that were in the Winterfest cabin like the campfire or other characters/objects. By simply chilling and not playing the main modes, you would be gaining sweet XP while not having to shoot a single bullet. 

It was a yearly tradition for the cabin to return but in 2023, the treasured cabin was replaced with a quest menu by Epic Games. While this was a noticeable shift in the sense of our presents or the chill vibe that came along with it, most of the player base hated the fact that it also removed the charming warmth that the cabin added to the overall festive atmosphere that the cabin gave us in previous years. It's not all just about receiving the gifts but also about the joy and excitement that the interactive Winterfest cabin provides. I personally enjoy clicking on my present and unwrapping it and then clicking on various objects to gain XP as it just lifted the Christmas spirit for me.

I launched a survey after Winterfest 2023 had ended on 100 Fortnite players and found out that only 5% of the players didn’t mind too much whether the quest menu returned or the cabin. I also found out that 95% of the players I surveyed really want to see the cabin return for 2024. This just shows how badly players are wanting to see the cabin return and how many of them want it to return as well. Epic Games should be listening to the Fortnite player base by giving us the beloved cabin back for 2024.

By signing this petition, we urge Epic Games to bring back the Winterfest cabin for Winterfest 2024. Even if you don’t play Fortnite, you will be making lots of people happy when they see the cabin is back. If Epic Games do bring back the cabin, they would not only uphold the well-loved traditions of past Fortnite Christmases but also foster a better player experience during the holiday season which would also increase their player base. Let's bring back the interactive cabin experience and retain the intimate holiday spirit within the Fortnite community!
