Bring back the Walthamstow Garden Party

The Issue

• Are you sad to hear the Walthamstow Garden Party has been cancelled this year?

• Are you unhappy you local summer festival has been taken away?

• Would you support seeing a version of it revived and run by the local community itself?

If so sign our petition today.

All talk of the event continuing has been entirely missing from the Barbican and the council’s legacy statements to date. This runs counter to discussions in the early years when the idea of the community eventually owning and managing it themselves was explored.

If you think this should be put back on the agenda and would like to see some of the WGP legacy funding spent on supporting and developing this idea further please sign this petition.

We believe community ownership and management of our annual summer festival will be the best legacy outcome, keeping money in the local economy, creating opportunities for local businesses, helping the development of new skills and employment as well as restoring a much loved event which encourages fellowship, diversity and inclusion.
