Corus Entertainment is at risk
As you can see, since 2023-2025, Corus Entertainment runs into a couple of problems and struggling financially which they are:
1) Treehouse TV and YTV no longer carry Nickelodeon/Nick Jr programming. This decision was made due to financial constraints at Corus Entertainment and the channel ceased operation on September 1st, 2025.
2) YTV no longer carries Nickelodeon programming because the Nickelodeon Canada channel has ceased operations.
3) Treehouse TV also does not carry Nick Jr. programming, as the Nickelodeon Canada channel has been discontinued.
4) On August 18, Corus announced that it would no longer distribute Nickelodeon programming on both YTV and Treehouse. As part of this decision, all Nickelodeon content will be removed from both channels permanently on the same day the Nickelodeon Canada channel closes.
5) On August 25, 2025, WildBrain announced its inability to renew carriage agreements with Bell TV and Rogers Cable. As a result, it plans to close its specialty channels, including Family, in the near future. The company cited the decline in carriage agreements as the primary reason, explaining that they no longer generated significant value and were therefore no longer commercially viable. Television providers later announced that the closure would take effect at the end of the broadcast day on October 22, 2025.
6) Treehouse TV primarily features animated content, including shows like Batwheels, Bugs Bunny Builders, and Curious George. This focus on animation, along with a lack of diverse programming options like live-action segments, seasonal holiday-themed content, special presentations, movies, and interstitials, can be disappointing for some viewers.
7) YTV's live-action programming is limited, and its content primarily consists of animated series like Teen Titans Go!, The Amazing World of Gumball, and The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball. This programming style is considered less appealing by many viewers and is seen as out of place for YTV.
8) Nickelodeon Canada, YTV and Treehouse TV's announcers for the "Up Next" segments and bumpers have been phased out due to financial constraints.
9) Treehouse TV offered a range of content including DVDs, videos, merchandise, and a subscription service. However, the service has recently been discontinued.
10) In April and summer 2023, Corus Entertainment terminated the contracts of Spencer, Melony, and Kelsey, all hosts of The Zone. This decision was made by Corus CEO Doug Murphy due to budget cuts. As a result, the show is currently unhosted.
11) The websites for YTV and Nickelodeon have removed numerous features, including games, the Treehouse TV video library, printables, contests, the parents' section, and more. This change is disappointing and seems excessive.
My goal is simple:
✅ Make Treehouse TV channel more popular
✅ Make YTV channel more popular
✅ Do a relaunch of Nickelodeon Canada channel
✅ Do a relaunch of Family Channel
✅ Convince a lot of Canadian citizens to partake in the petition
✅ Bring back and rehire the members of the Corus Entertainment company (employees, CEOS, CFOS, e.t.c)
✅ Bring back Nelvana studios
✅ Reviving the Treehouse TV, Nickelodeon, and YTV websites that has games, Treehouse TV video Library, printables, contests, parents section, and much more.
