I have created a petition calling for the local nursery in Marham to reconsider the current session times and bring back the term time contact starting at 9am and  a 3pm finish, to better support working parents and families.

Many parents have already changed their working hours and job patterns around the previous 3pm collection time. The change to the new sessions is now making childcare much more difficult and, for many families, significantly more expensive.

Under the new arrangements, parents who need childcare beyond 3pm may have to pay for both morning and afternoon sessions which is not financially affordable for many families. 

The 30 hours funding also doesn’t necessarily solve the problem, as it will mean parents can use their funded hours for either four morning sessions OR four afternoon sessions rather than providing the flexibility many working families need.

For parents whose children attend 9am–3pm, the additional cost of having to purchase extra sessions will have a huge financial strain particularly when parents have already structured their employment around the previous 3pm collection.

If you agree that the 3pm finish should be brought back and is required please support us by voicing our concerns.
