In the early '90s, at the height of Turtle-mania, the folks behind the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise set out to achieve the impossible - a nationwide rock concert tour across America dubbed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Coming Out of Their Shells Tour. As a kid, I had a VHS copy of the tour as I was born just days after the tour began, so I was too young to see it in person. I watched it relentlessly and was in awe of its bewildering nature.

Back then, the Turtles brought joy and inspiration through the '80s cartoon as well as the live-action films of the '90s, but the concert tour itself was so strange, so camp, and so unique, and I believe we need that sort of energy again from the Turtles in these tumultuous times.

And even if it doesn't, at the very least the kitsch factor alone would be enough to satiate the pallet of those of us fans that just want to relive the childhood experience again of seeing the Turtles live and in person. Practical suits, the voice talents of beloved voice actors, and catch songs that top the charts. A full nationwide tour would bring a much-needed unifying experience.

Rekindling this tour could also support local economies as it traverses the nation, filling venues and creating jobs in the entertainment sector. Not to mention the renewed merchandising opportunities that could rejuvenate the TMNT brand, appealing to both vintage fans and the next generation.
