A cherished community memory lies at the intersection of Yandilla and Hamilton Street - the Tattersalls Hotel. Constructed in 1900, the "Tatts" was much more than a pub. It was a vibrant social hub which witnessed countless friendships formed, legends made, and stories shared. One fateful night in January 2016, a devastating fire suddenly gutted the cherished pub, leaving a gaping hole in our town's identity and a vacant lot where the vibrant social hub once stood.

Today, we argue a restoration for the innovation of the future – a modern, stronger pub. The sentiments of our shared history should not be an eyesore in our flourishing town. A reinvention of the Tatts would rebirth the memories of the old while creating a welcoming space for new memories to be formed.

Historically, pubs and bars have been shown to provide an economic boost to the area they inhabit. In 2019, small bars and pubs in Australia reportedly employed over 37,000 people and contributed $6.2 billion to the economy (source: Australian Hotels Association). A new pub could provide an economic thrust to Pittsworth, create jobs, stimulate the economy, and importantly, preserve our heritage.

Let's replace the visual reminder of a painful event with a testament to our resolve and resilience. Let's bring back life to that familiar street corner. Let's create a space where old friends meet, newcomers feel welcome, and memories are made – all again. The Tattersalls Hotel pittsworth is special to all who knew the pub between 1900 and till jan 2016! Please sign this petition to support the call for a new pub on the block of our beloved former Tattersalls Hotel. A new beginning could start for a new and improved tatts hotel pittsworth that arises from the former original timber building. jan 7 2026 is the 10th anniversary since the fire! the empty block of land on Yandilla and Hamilton Street will always be where the tattersalls hotel was! icons like pittsworths former Tattersalls Hotel are cherished because pittsworth feels deeply emotional without a old part of town.
