Stinky Pete, AKA The Prospector is a character from the Toy Story franchise who appeared in Toy Story 2. He is a cowboy doll just like Woody and Jessie and has a toy pickaxe. He's also shown to live in a box which was never opened. Here's a brief summary about him: (Spoiler Alert!)

In the second movie, when Woody was kidnapped by Al and taken to his penthouse, Woody meets Bullseye, Jessie, and the Prospector who are all rare promotional toys for this old TV Series called "Woody's Roundup." Woody was very amazed about all this but then it all changed when they told him that Al is planning to ship them off to a museum to be on display. At first, Woody was planning to go back but then changed his mind after hearing Jessie's story. Later on, when Buzz and some of the other toys came to rescue Woody and he changed his mind again, The Prospector prevented Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye from leaving by getting out of his box and locking the vent with his pickaxe. Apparently, he was against being played with and wanted everyone to be shipped. He ended up being one of the villains of the movie. Later on, when Buzz and everyone else caught up to them at the airport, they managed to save Woody from The Prospector and forced him into a backpack which belonged to a little girl. Apparently, she had a Barbie doll in the bag who told him that the girl was an artist due to his shock and dismay. 

The Prospector was never seen in any of the movies after Toy Story 2 not even mentioned. However, he wasn't totally absent from the franchise. First, he was featured in the Toy Story 2 video game as one of the boss enemies. Second, he also appeared in the Toy Box mode in the Toy Story 3 video game as well. Finally, he was also featured in the Toy Story Mania ride at Disney California Adventure and the video game version as well.

I really think The Prospector deserves a comeback somehow. Not only that, but maybe also have him change his ways and become everyone's friend like he used to be. I would've loved to see this happen! But whether he stays their enemy or becomes their friend, I still would love to see The Prospector in the movies again either way. I really want to see what became of him after his defeat in Toy Story 2!

In fact, there may actually be hope for the character. Disney-Pixar recently announced Toy Story 5 scheduled for release this summer in June. I'm very excited about the movie but I'm not so sure The Prospector will return though. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. However, I also heard about the possibility of a Toy Story 6 as well.  But I still don't know if it will actually happen though. It's still too early to tell. Like I said before, I guess we'll have to wait for Toy Story 5 to come out and see from there. But still, if the character doesn't end up appearing in the upcoming fifth movie and Disney-Pixar really have a Toy Story 6 in the works, then I believe now is the time to try to persuade them to bring back this character!
