If it ain’t broke – why fix it?

Wall’s has made the devastating decision to change the Big Feast ice lolly, and it’s no longer the product people know and love.

The Big Feast is synonymous with summer afternoons, family time, and a treat you could rely on. That original recipe didn’t need improving. It certainly didn’t need replacing.

I tried the new version today after my husband picked up a box, assuming it was the same as always. It wasn’t. The familiar chocolate ice cream inside the tasty, crunchy outer layer has been replaced with a bland white gloop with almost no flavour. The iconic solid chocolate core, arguably the best part, has been swapped out for a cloying hazelnut-style paste. It’s a completely different product, and not in a good way.

What makes this worse is that the packaging hasn’t clearly changed. Customers are buying it expecting the original and getting something far inferior instead. That’s not fair.

We are asking Unilever to:

BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL BIG FEAST ICE LOLLY, or

At the very least, clearly label the current version as changed so customers can make an informed (but poor) choice to purchase it.

Consumers deserve transparency and consistency, especially with long-standing products.
