Every day at Minooka Community High School used to be an opportunity to connect with my friends, share stories, and create cherished memories – all thanks to the old seating arrangement in the cafeteria. But now, this has changed. I am heartbroken to find that my once lively lunch table has been divided due to the shortage of chairs, limiting my ability to see and interact with my friends. This seemingly small change has made a big impact on my social life and that of many students here.

Recently, the school administration made changes to the cafeteria seating, reducing the number of chairs available. This has not only affected established friendships but has also made it more difficult for students to meet new people and expand their social circles. For many of us, lunchtime is a crucial period where we can relax and destress amidst our hectic academic lives. With limited seating, it's hard to find these moments of solace.

Statistics and studies have shown that a supportive social environment in schools contributes significantly to students' academic performance, emotional well-being, and overall happiness. Lunchtime, without adequate seating, strips us of the chance to foster an inclusive community where everyone feels they belong and can express themselves freely.

Reverting to the old seating arrangement would not only restore our sense of community but also enhance student satisfaction and well-being. We propose to reinstate the previous number of chairs or find a viable solution that accommodates more students, ensuring everyone has a chance to reconnect with their friends.
