Bring back the old dress code at Lighthouse

Bring back the old dress code at Lighthouse
The Issue
Ever since the implementation of the new dress code at Lighthouse, life has become much more restrictive and challenging for students like me. The rigid regulations imposed will not allow us to express our individuality through our clothes, stifling a crucial part of our self-expression. More troubling, however, is the fact that this change was made without adequate communication with the parents, who only learned about it after it was already decided upon and put into effect.
As someone who attends Lighthouse, I am not only concerned for myself but also deeply worried about the impacts this will have on my siblings and other students. With the tuition fees being increased in the past, this new dress code places an additional financial burden on families who are already struggling to keep up with the costs. Parents now find themselves in the frustrating predicament of needing to buy an entirely new wardrobe to comply with these abrupt changes. This kind of unexpected additional expense is unreasonable and places undue stress on our families.
While maintaining a dress code can help maintain a sense of unity and focus, the previous dress code already balanced order with student self-expression. A complete overhaul, especially one carried out without sufficient input from parents and students, erodes the sense of community and adds unnecessary hardship.
We need Lighthouse to reconsider and revert to the former dress code. This change would demonstrate the administration’s respect for parents’ financial concerns and students’ need for personal expression. It acknowledges the importance of community involvement in decisions that affect us all.
Please join me in urging the Lighthouse administration to listen to our voices and bring back the old dress code. Sign this petition and make a difference for students and families today.
