Bring back the murals at Filippi Winery

Bring back the murals at Filippi Winery
The Issue
As a longtime Rancho Cucamonga resident and admin of one of the city’s largest community groups, I’ve seen firsthand how much the Filippi Winery murals meant to people. They were more than artwork — they were part of Rancho’s identity, history, and memories for generations of residents. I hope this petition helps show how deeply loved they truly were. 💜
The Filippi Winery murals in Rancho Cucamonga were not just paint on walls; they were a vibrant tapestry of our local history and cultural pride. These murals depicted the rich heritage of our community, celebrating the hardworking spirit of those who’ve cultivated the land and crafted the wine that put Rancho Cucamonga on the map. Their absence is felt deeply by all who had the privilege to experience their beauty and historical significance.
Removing these murals has left a void in our community. They served as a visual storytelling medium, offering both residents and visitors a glimpse into the past that built the foundation of our city. Without them, a piece of our collective identity is missing.
We urge the city officials, Filippi Winery management, and preservation societies to come together to bring back these cherished murals. Restoration can happen in a way that respects any new developments yet honors the historical significance of the murals. These artworks should be preserved, perhaps with added descriptions or digital archives, for future generations to appreciate and learn from.
Reinstalling the murals would not only honor our city’s past but also reinstate a sense of community pride and cultural continuity. When we reflect on our local legends and stories depicted on these walls, it not only educates but inspires us.
Rancho Cucamonga, let’s come together to restore this integral part of our history. Sign this petition to bring back the murals at Filippi Winery and have them stand once again as symbols of our rich heritage and community spirit.
