Bring Back the Easy Money board game

The Issue

In 1935, Milton Bradley released a game that would capture the imaginations of generations: Easy Money. This classic board game, akin to Monopoly by Parker Brothers, features unique elements that set it apart from its contemporaries. Unlike Monopoly, Easy Money has no "Go To Jail" space, but instead, introduces a dedicated jail space marked by a red traffic light that imposes penalties. Additionally, there’s no free parking space, and the presence of "Give Or Take" cards that come into play whenever doubles are thrown makes strategy and chance collide in an exciting way. Players are not constrained by color groups but by streets on all 4 corners of the game board with color coded houses, allowing for more fluid and dynamic gameplay. Title deeds are not on cards like Monopoly has, title deeds and information are on the gameboard.

Today, Easy Money stands as a beacon of nostalgia and a testament to innovative board game design. However, its absence from the current board game market denies new generations the chance to experience its unique charms. Bringing back Easy Money in a revitalized format would not only celebrate its historical significance but would also introduce its engaging gameplay to both familiar fans and newcomers alike. Some updated properties added may do some good.

Milton Bradley’s creation deserves a comeback. The return of the classic game Easy Money would mean respecting and preserving a cherished part of board game history. More than that, it would offer families and friends a chance to engage in a game that values both skill and chance without losing the essence of fun that classic games provide.

This petition calls on the makers of Monopoly, Hasbro Games, to take up the mantle of reviving Easy Money for the modern age. With their expertise in creating board games that resonate with so many, they are best placed to breathe new life into this old favorite.

Please sign this petition to bring back the joy and excitement of Easy Money to a new generation of players and ensure its vibrant return to the world of board games.
