The DCC have produced a draft Coastal Plan which outlines a multitude of options including groynes. You can access it using the link attached.

The most effective next action is repair of the poles back to the sand-trapping groyne that they were, for a 5 year trial.

Everyone will see the accumulation potential of the beach and be much better informed about subsequent steps.

Just look at how much sand was on the beach when the groynes were in good repair ~1990
