This Monday, 29 March is closing day for submissions to the DCC Coastal Plan.

Why would ratepayers commit to hundreds of $millions in expense with major loss of amenity before trying the one thing that protected St Clair for a century?

Let’s repair the remaining poles back to a working groyne for just $100K and give it a fair trial.

That is an experiment we can all see for ourselves at much less cost than the inconclusive reports we’ve paid for over the past 20 years let alone the annual repairs required to patch up storm damage.
