Bring back Sr. Samira and Br. Chaker to ISNS

The Issue

We, the ISNS community call for the reinstatement of our educators who were pressured to resign under unfair and non-transparent circumstances.
Educators Sister Samira and Br. Chaker have been with ISNS for the past two decades and were instrumental in the success of its educational initiatives including Sunday School, Hifz Program and Little Scholar among others.

The heart of our Islamic community has always been our local mosque, and the cornerstone of the mosque's impact is its educators. The resignation of our teachers has not only affected the Islamic education of our children but also has deeply shaken and left a vacuum in our community.

Sr. Samira and Br. Chaker played a vital role in instilling a deep-rooted understanding and love for our faith in our children. Their lessons went beyond the textbook, teaching our children the essential virtues of empathy, respect, and critical thinking from an Islamic perspective. The void in our mosque's educational structure is deeply felt.

Without these pivotal figures, the dynamic and smooth running of our community's educational endeavors is at great risk. It's not just about losing these devoted educators; it's about the potential loss of our children's continuity in receiving quality Islamic education.

Numerous parents and community members have expressed their dismay at this unexpected disruption. This situation affects many families in and around the northwestern suburbs.

It is in the best interests of our community, children, and the future of our mosque that we want Sr Samira and Br Chaker to come back and be part of our children’s Islamic education and masjid community that they have been building and running for more than 20 years.

We, the ISNS community are demanding the concerned authorities of ISNS to urgently and without delay bring back our esteemed educators to continue their commendable work and be involved in teaching and shaping our kids.

We, the ISNS community would like to reinstate brother Chaker as president of Sunday school and Sr. Samira as the Curriculum Director of Education.

Furthermore, Sr Samira is to run the Little Scholar program independently from the ISNS board.

Our community is resilient; together, we can ensure that the foundation of our faith remains strong within us and our children.

Our faith, our community, our children deserve this. Reinstate our teachers. Sign this petition. Let our collective voices be heard.
