Bring Back Recent Hashtags on Instagram

Bring Back Recent Hashtags on Instagram
The Issue
Dear Instagram/Meta,
I am writing on behalf of the larger trading/selling community on Instagram. This is a group of 100s of thousands of users who use the site to find people to trade/sell with for dozens of different hobbies including K-pop, art, fiber arts, trading cards, blind boxes, stationery, stickers, etc. People have for YEARS been using this platform as an alternative to other competitor sites for its ease of use, dm features, and ability to pay for items without the fees of competitor apps. The “recents” hashtag filter made it super easy to find what you were looking to buy or trade in whatever country you lived in or for a certain sub-category of your hobby! For time-limited items or “group orders” (where one user hosts an order for many people to save on shipping costs from overseas sellers), getting rid of the recents section has done huge damage to the community. It is a problem for time-sensitive events, it is damaging for users with fewer followers who just as much deserve to be a part of this community. It makes it really difficult, even with a larger following to navigate the app. Because of all of this, many users are on Instagram less and less as a result. It has made our community less accessible, less fun, and less productive. We all have started to think of moving to different platforms since this update has been in effect for months now and it shows no signs of improving. So, we ask as a large community to bring back the recent hashtag feature and not just base it off of “top recents”. This app has been a haven for collectors and artists alike for many years and we don’t want to leave it, but as long it stays nearly impossible to use because of this update, we are heavily considering it and many users have already migrated becoming less active or even fully inactive because of the update. We hope you consider changing this update!! Thank you on behalf of the trading/selling community of Instagram.
