I want E.W. Scripps to realize the mistake they made when they FORCED ION Plus (which came back OTA on July 1, 2024) and Qubo off the air for no reason whatsoever. This was a rushed decision that was not well thought of. Because of this decision, there are TWO or more Court TV affiliates in ONE market. That would be similar to one company owning the ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox stations in one market. It's ridiculous! If E.W. Scripps wanted to launch TrueReal and Defy TV in July, they could have kept ION Plus and Qubo on the air. They could have added those channels to the subchannel of ION and Katz Network affiliates. ION Plus could have served as an extension to the ION brand. This would be similar to Court TV Mystery being an extension to Court TV. ION Plus would air lifestyle-type programming. As far as Qubo, it should have never been thought of to be taken off the air. Even though Qubo was a shell of what it once was in its final years, Qubo still had good shows. Now with Qubo gone, Smile (which already shut downed on January 12, 2025) and PBS Kids are the only 24-hour children's network left in the United States. Smile was a Christian-based children's network. Sadly, Christian television is not seen as often as other secular networks; a problem that affects other religious broadcasters such as TBN, CBN, and TCT.

We have developed a comprehensive proposal for The E.W. Scripps Company to revive the beloved Qubo network.

Partnership:
The E.W. Scripps Company will partner with NBCUniversal, Corus Entertainment, Scholastic Corporation, Splash Entertainment, and WildBrain to relaunch the children's programming digital multicast network that went defunct on February 28, 2021. 

The Vision for the Future:

To ensure the long-term success and specialized focus required to restore beloved brands like Qubo, we are calling on The E.W. Scripps Company to spin off ION, ION Plus, and ION Mystery into a dedicated, independent entity: ION Media.

We propose that this new company:

• Be headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida, returning to ION’s historic roots.
• Establish a leadership team dedicated to specialized broadcasting, potentially under proven leadership like former Scripps Networks President Lisa Knutson, to refocus on high-quality, diverse programming.
• Relaunch Qubo as a flagship educational subchannel, filling the critical gap for free, over-the-air children's content that has been missing since Scripps ceased its operations in 2021." 
• Rebranding: "ION" will be renamed back to "ION Television", and "Scripps Sports" will become "ION Sports".

Station Restructuring

• O&O Stations: WXPX-TV (66.1), KMCC (34.1), and KUPX-TV (16.1) will be rejoined as ION Television owned and operated stations.
• Affiliates: KWBA-TV (58.1) and WACY-TV (32.1) will become ION Television affiliates.
• Halting Changes: The plan to disaffiliate ION Television on WNPX-TV (28.1) will be halted.

While there is no Qubo Channel or ION Plus available on either Dish Network or DirecTV, the West coast feed of ION Television airs a Qubo block from 6:00AM Eastern/5:00AM Central to 3:00PM Eastern/2:00PM Central time every day. It also airs an ION Plus block from 8:00PM Eastern/7:00PM Central to 1:00AM Eastern/12:00AM Central. Due to their extension of regular programming, ION Television should still air the branded Qubo Kids Corner block, every Friday mornings from 7:00AM Eastern/6:00AM Central to 10:00AM Eastern/9:00AM Central!

Qubo and ION Plus will air some infomercials overnight from 1:00AM Eastern/12:00AM Central to 6:00AM Eastern/5:00AM Central!

I hope that E.W. Scripps Company right the wrongs of the closure of Qubo and bring it back. I hope this petition can be a step to getting this done and fixing this problem.
