Bring back Mr. David Gess to finish Triangle Tech's last year
The Issue
On June 5, 2024, the students of all of Triangle Tech's programs and campuses were informed that the school would be shutting down in June of 2025. It was also informed to us via a news report that some of the staff would be getting laid off.
TribLive - Triangle Tech's Closing
One of the teachers, David Gess. Mr. Gess is a ME (Maintenance Electricity, one of the programs offered at Triangle Tech) teacher at Greensburg who has been in the industry since after his time in the Army. Unfortunately, he was informed June 5th that he also was let go.
Why is Mr. Gess's a name to remember? Well, Mr. Gess is one of the best teachers in the ME department. Not only is he not afraid to get up and do more hands on work, but he gets bored of sitting in the classroom, like most students, and shows them things and does things that not many others would. Just recently, a (at the time) 1st term class would have been without a ME teacher after an accident rendered another teacher out on leave. He stepped up and helped them with all of their questions and helped them complete the labs. Furthermore while helping them, he still had 3 other classes to attend to! This is why he is regarded the way he is and only part of the reason.
Upon Mr. Gess being a stupendous teacher, he is a family man. He has a spouse and kids, whom he has told his students that his family is his favorite part of his life.
Mr. Gess is also a well-respected member of his community. Starting his own church not so long ago. Since then, he has held Christian concerts, baptisms, etc.
We, the final ME students of Triangle Tech - Greensburg, want Mr. Gess back because not only in 3rd term do students have motor controls and that was his big thing and a very difficult class at that, but because he is just that great of a teacher and a person. The ME students of Triangle Tech feel as though he should not have been let go and hope that he can be brought back to help these last 8 months of Triangle Tech's ME program run smoothly and efficiently.
