Bring Back Coach Lance Thomas – Reinstate Him as Head Coach for CHS Girls Flag Football Team 

To the Administration and Board of Trustees of the Carlsbad Unified School District:

We, the parents, student-athletes, and community members of Carlsbad, are writing to respectfully request the immediate reinstatement of Lance Thomas as the Head Coach of the Carlsbad High School Girls Flag Football program.

Over the past 16 years, Coach Lance has poured his heart, time, and dedication into Carlsbad youth sports. His commitment to building strong programs, mentoring young athletes, and fostering a culture of integrity, sportsmanship, and teamwork has made a lasting, positive impact across our community.

Under Coach Lance’s leadership, our student-athletes don't just learn the game—they learn confidence, resilience, and the value of supporting one another. He consistently prioritizes the growth and well-being of every player, creating an environment where young women feel empowered to excel both on and off the field.

As the season gets underway, stability and strong, trusted leadership are critical for these student-athletes. Reinstating Coach Lance Thomas as Head Coach is in the absolute best interest of the players, the program, and the Carlsbad athletics community as a whole.

We stand together in support of Coach Lance and urge the district to bring him back to lead these incredible athletes this season.
