Bring back Education Plus’s online Zoom classes on Wednesdays!

The Issue

As a student from EdPlus highschool, I can speak for all of us students here; we want online school on Wednesdays back! We used to have this, until the Quebec Ministry of Education informed our teacher James Watts he couldn't have our school do online days on Wednesdays anymore. According to the Ministry, this is because we wouldn't attend the proper amount of school days necessary for school systems. However, private schools may vary slightly in their specific number of school days, depending on their unique curriculum and structure. This flexibility is possible as long as they meet the minimum requirements set by the government. Private schools are still regulated under the "Act Respecting Private Education," which ensures that they provide quality education, but they can adapt their schedule according to their specific programs or extracurricular activities

Here are the legal documents for proof that this is in fact true- they are from the Quebec Government website.

For more proof, you can refer to the Quebec government's official site, or review the regulations set by the "Act Respecting Private Education."

Another beneficial outcome we students at EdPlus would gain is the ability to manage our time better and keep track of assignments. Having a break in the middle of the week would give us time to organize our work without stressing about missing the bus or being late to school. Meanwhile, we would still complete the same amount of work and absorb just as much educational content as we would in class, but through Zoom.

Thank you for your patience to read my arguments, and please sign this petition to help the cause- to bring back online zoom classes every Wednesday!

Sincerely,

an EdPlus student :)
