Bring Back Cords

Bring Back Cords
The Issue
This year, the Shrewsbury High School administration has eliminated cords. In previous years, they implemented policies restricting seniors from wearing more than one cord when walking across the stage during graduation.
Graduation is about celebrating a student's achievements and success. Many, if not all, seniors have worked tirelessly throughout their high school careers to walk across the stage and display their success. Replacing cords with pins diminishes the value of these achievements. Moreover, cords signify the school's success in providing an enriching environment for education.
Additionally, members of the Shrewsbury High Honor Societies chapters have already paid a due of $20-$25. This money would usually go towards purchasing cords, but instead, we now must pay inflated prices for pins.
Understandably, the administration wishes to treat everyone equally, but taking away cords is unfair or equal to students who have dedicated their time and energy to challenging and engaging in demanding activities.
Shouldn't students be allowed to celebrate their only high school graduation?
We want the Shrewsbury High School administration to take our opinions into account before making decisions that can have detrimental effects on us.
We want to be heard.
Bring cords back.
