The Issue

My friends and I used to spend countless enjoyable hours during our breaks and free periods on Coolmath Games at school. It was more than just a way to pass the time; it was a sanctuary of fun mixed with learning, where we could challenge ourselves with games that stimulated our minds while improving our math skills. To many of us, it was a time of bonding and healthy competition. Unfortunately, this beloved website has been blocked in the Salt Lake City School District, removing a source of harmless joy and educational stimulation from our daily lives.

When Coolmath Games was blocked, kids tried finding other websites with unsafe malware and inappropriate games. Coolmath Games had none of that, designed to be the original unblocked website, not because it used bypassers, but because it was trusted to be a safe space for games.

We ask the Salt Lake City School District to unblock Coolmath Games so students can once again access a resource that contributes positively to our enjoyment. Let learning be full of fun, curiosity, and excitement, as it should be.

Please sign this petition to help us bring back a fun tool to our schools, ensuring that future learners in our district get to benefit from the unique and beneficial experience provided by Coolmath Games. Your support can make a difference!

I think of how unfair it is how this petition could be overlooked by the Salt Lake City School District just because it was written by students and involves video games. If only we were in a world where fun was seen as fun, not a "dangerous" "obscene" place for "terrible games."

This site was blocked because it was "not" in line with the Children's Internet Protection Act. However, a scan of everything in the CIPA and of coolmathgames.com shows that Coolmath is in line with the policies! Just because there's games does NOT mean it's bad.
