The Issue

South Florida’s K‑pop community has taken a major hit this year with the closure of our only K‑pop store  that once hosted trading nights, cup sleeve events, and album listening parties. This wasn't just a retail business, but rather a third space where fans built friendships, celebrated comebacks, and found a sense of belonging.

At the same time, K‑pop’s popularity in the United States continues to grow. The U.S. is home to approximately 30 million K‑pop fans as of 2023, showing enormous nationwide demand. Given Florida’s population, South Florida alone represents an estimated two million K‑pop fans, which I believe is considered to be a huge, active market, but currently are without a dedicated space to gather, shop, and celebrate together.

The growth in concert participation is even more impressive, as K‑pop concert ticket sales reached 12 million globally in 2023, highlighting explosive engagement for in‑person events. Top K‑pop acts consistently achieve 100% sell‑out rates across major U.S. venues, often representing a strong demand for in-person fan experiences in markets like Florida.

Miami, Orlando, and Tampa have become key tour stops for major groups, with multiple events selling out quickly every year. With a K-pop Nara already in Orlando, having a Hello82 in South Florida will drive the demand for more K-pop acts in South Florida, therefore resulting in more foot traffic for these stores during these events.

This petition serves as a testament to the passion and demand of South Florida K-pop fans and how opening a K‑pop store in South Florida is not just desired, but it’s a smart investment. Companies like Hello82 already operate successful stores in Los Angeles, San Diego, and New York, yet the entire  portion of South Florida remains unserved. South Florida’s diverse population, high tourism traffic, strong fan engagement, and consistent concert activity make it the perfect location for expansion.

We are asking companies to recognize this opportunity and give our community the home it deserves: a safe, inclusive, and vibrant enviornment where fans can connect, celebrate, and continue to grow together.

What We’re Asking For:
• A dedicated K‑pop store in Broward or Miami‑Dade for community‑driven events (trading nights, cup sleeve events, listening parties).
• Recognition of South Florida as a major K‑pop market worth investing in

Why Your Signature Matters:
Every signature shows companies like Hello82 that our community is strong, active, and ready to support a store. By signing, you’re helping bring back a space that thousands of fans relied on for connection, joy, and cultural celebration.
