Bring Arashi’s Final Tour to Singapore — One Last Chance for Fans

Bring Arashi’s Final Tour to Singapore — One Last Chance for Fans
The Issue
We, the undersigned, urge the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to bring Arashi’s final concert tour in Spring 2026 to Singapore — giving international fans one last chance to experience the legendary Japanese group live.
Why It Matters to Fans
As a fan of Arashi since I was 15, their music inspired me to learn Japanese and shaped many aspects of my life. However, like thousands of overseas fans, I have never been able to attend their concerts due to strict membership rules requiring a Japanese address, phone number, and bank account. With their disbandment approaching, this final tour is our last and only chance to see Arashi perform live.
Why It Benefits Singapore
Bringing Arashi’s final tour to Singapore will deliver significant economic and tourism benefits:
- High International Demand: As their final performance, fans will travel from around the world. Arashi seldom holds concerts overseas — their last international concerts in Hawaii (2014) drew 30,000 attendees and generated over US$20 million in direct spending and US$100 million in media value for Hawaii from just a 2-day tour.
- Proven Regional Fanbase & Accessibility: Singapore is strategically accessible to major Arashi fan communities across Asia, including the Philippines (120,000 followers on their fan page), China (over 357,000 followers on Arashi’s official Weibo), Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. Singapore’s visa-free entry for many of these countries further positions it as the ideal and attractive hub for regional fans to gather.
- Demonstrated Concert Tourism Impact: In 2024, Taylor Swift’s 6-day Singapore tour drew over 300,000 attendees, with more than 70% being international visitors, generating over S$300 million (US$220 million) for Singapore’s economy. Arashi’s final tour — given its rarity, dedicated international fanbase, and one-time-only nature — has similar, if not more concentrated, tourism potential. Their 2014 Hawaii concert alone generated US$100 million in value from just a 2-day tour. Hosting Arashi’s final tour in Singapore could deliver a powerful economic boost in a shorter time frame, drawing thousands of high-spending visitors from across Asia.
Why Singapore is the Ideal Host
- Regional Accessibility: Easily reachable for fans from Southeast Asia, China, and beyond
- Robust Event Infrastructure: Proven capability to host large-scale international concerts
- Tourism Boost: Increased demand for hotels, restaurants, retail, and travel services
By bringing Arashi’s final tour to Singapore, STB can create a historic cultural event, draw thousands of international visitors, and offer fans across Asia the unforgettable opportunity to bid farewell to Arashi.
