The Issue

Growing up near Hispanic grocery stores my whole life made them feel like a staple in my community. They were easily accessible, just around the corner, providing not only a wide variety of familiar products but also a vibrant cultural presence that one could just walk or drive a short distance to enjoy. However, since moving to North Las Vegas in the vicinity of the 89086, 89081, 89031, and 89084 zip codes, our access to these stores has become inconveniently limited. The nearest Hispanic grocery store is over 15 minutes away, and it's challenging for many of us to make such a trip regularly, especially for families with tight schedules or limited transportation options.

Hispanic grocery stores, such as La Bonita, Cardenas, Superior, or El Super, are not just places to purchase groceries; they are cultural hubs offering familiar products, reasonable prices, and a welcoming environment for everyone. These stores often carry products that are either expensive or not available in other stores like Smith's, Walmart, or Sprouts, making them crucial for those of us who value both tradition and budget. La Bonita, for instance, typically offers lower prices compared to these other supermarkets, which is essential for families trying to save money while staying connected to their roots.

Establishing a Hispanic grocery store in our area would greatly benefit the residents of North Las Vegas, fostering a sense of community and cultural awareness. Furthermore, it would provide more shopping diversity and help stimulate local businesses by increasing accessibility to those unique products not carried by more generic grocery chains.

Imagine being able to shop for your favorite ingredients without worrying about a lengthy drive or higher costs. A nearby Hispanic grocery store would mean more opportunities for family gatherings centered around traditional meals and more support for local vendors and products.

Let us come together to advocate for the introduction of a Hispanic grocery store in our community. Sign this petition to show your support and bring a much-needed cultural and economic boost to North Las Vegas. Your signature could help make our vision a reality, positively impacting countless families and enhancing our community's vibrancy.
