The Issue

Dear petition readers,

It's absolutely no secret that Roblox is a big place for bad actors, such as child predators, users posting inappropriate content, and more. People of all ages are on Roblox - and it's one of the most unsafe gaming platforms of all time. Around 40% of Roblox players are under 13, and 44% are over 17.

So, a gaming platform with problems like this should have a moderation team that cares about safety, right? Well, Roblox doesn't - they moderate users for absolutely no reason. They also don't do enough, especially in terms of child predators. These child predators usually act as trustworthy adults (sometimes kids though), hoping to "build trust" and receive sexual content from children across all age groups.

Roblox's moderation team also doesn't do enough in terms of inappropriate content (such as games, avatar items, emotes, etc). The platform has over 40 million games (now known as experiences) - it's to no surprise that there are a sheer amount of inappropriate ones that slip through. Examples of these inappropriate "experiences" include public bathroom/shower simulators, "condo games" (which expose young users to adult nudity and crude language), games referring to Jeffrey Epstein and Sean "Diddy" Combs, and more.

There has also been a large number of people joining Roblox's user-generated content (UGC) program, which allows people to post avatar content (such as faces, clothing, emotes, and more). With a recent release of "UGC Emotes" (which allow your lego-like character to dance in a certain way), there have been inappropriate emotes (such as 18+ emotes and Nazi salutes). Thankfully (and surprisingly), the main ones have been moderated, but there are likely more out there.

Even more thankfully, there are "vigilantes" (who are users who try to help with moderation of the rule breakers) who are there to assist. However, a main "predator catcher" (who poses as a minor to try and catch predators) known as Schlep, not only recently got banned, but also got sent a cease and desist letter straight from Roblox Corporation.

Recently, a famous Roblox YouTuber known as KreekCraft, whom has 13.1 million subscribers, joined a game called "MeepCity" (which has had a problem with child predators for multiple years), and within five seconds, there was somebody acting weirdly. The famed YouTuber also joined on an alternate account, where nobody knew it was him. KreekCraft and a few other people also left Roblox's "Video Stars Program", which is a program for famed Roblox content creators to receive commission from Robux purchases (if someone purchasing Robux uses their "star code"), a badge, and more tools for engagement.

The entire moderation team at Roblox needs to be overhauled. This includes: the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Safety Officer, Moderation Team, Public Relations, and more. Absolutely NOBODY at Roblox is doing enough work for the safety of children, parents, and everyone. In fact, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill has started a lawsuit. touching on Roblox's child safety issues. Murrill states, in one of her X (formerly Twitter) posts, "Roblox is violating Louisiana law - choosing profits over child safety. It's basically open season for sex predators on this platform". She has also made multiple posts regarding the lawsuit, showing multiple different inappropriate games, on the topics I've mentioned in an above paragraph.

So, what are you waiting for? Sign the petition today, and help the children AND parents across the globe be safe. It only takes a couple minutes to help spread the word. If you wish, you can also share the petition on your social media accounts, in articles, and with your friends and family. Anything helps - thank you for taking your time to support the cause.
